Mrs. Rowe’s Family Restaurant
My second visit here and although it was late in the day, it still measured up to my expectations. Food was served hot, delicious and plentiful. Waitress was fun and engaging. Sadly this restaurant is not what it used to be. Always stopped here if we were in the area. Recent Sunday evening meal was barely edible.
Excellent southern home cooking. All sandwich breads homemade. Homemade pies and cookies for dessert. Great southern hospitality. Rare occasion to be able to eat a meal alone with my baby girl. Eating Dinner with Janet Rexrode Shifflett. Travel Update: we pull roadside to a home of cooking.
Rowe's is exactly what you expect Our breakfast was good, but not hugely exciting. Best part? The huge cinnamon bun - get that!!! Also loved carafes of coffee and water on our table.

Just off of 81, we were greeted warmly by a woman who looked very much like the Mrs. Rowe on the cover though likely a grand-daughter, as the restaurant was opened over 70 years ago. Really good coffee. For 2. I ate half of his. Great place to eat. Clean, friendly, efficient.
